Interesting... And very innovative approach.
I would suggest that one post what fish one is looking for and then anyone interested can settle via PM.
Hey, I was wondering is it possible for us to pool in together our request for purchase of fishes. I understand that our LFS needs to buy a certain quantity of fish before they are willing to bring in. So I was thinking can we in AQ pool in our request and the species that hits the quota on the quantity, we head down to our fave LFS andd ask them to bring it on for us? It is afterall a win-win situation, since LFS earn money, don't worry about not selling fishes and we get the fish we want and we can possibly get a discount too given the quantity.

16 clown killies

hey come on, I don't believe no one here doesn't want to have a fish that they can't get their hand on in the current market.
Uhm... list is too long that it will fill up 2 to 3 pages? Muahahahaha....
It's only feasible if the quantity is large enough for overseas orders.
For example a box of Apistogramma from South America would be about 100 to 300 pieces, depending on size. After factoring in the the freight and paperwork cost. It's a substantial amount. Also, the importer is not liable for DOA (Dead on Arrival) situation. It's the customer's responsibility to deal with the exporter for claims, which at best is a refund of the fish value, not freight cost (the bulk of the cost).
As such, it's a lot difficult to co-ordinate the orders, especially for fishes where one may want to pick the nice males/pairs out.
Nevertheless, an idea worth exploring with like minded hobbyists. Some of us have or are already doing it.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
If we can create a top 10 list and have people polling in with the request for the fish, would it not be faster to coordinate a quantity large enough to secure a consignment. Besides, no loss on anybody's part, even if it does not hit the quota. Of course, this is provided that the fish do not get DOA on us.
can we have zebra OTOs ?? think quite a few members want them![]()
