how do bb survive for months in bottles without oxygen?
we all know that bb in filters will die from oxygen starvation in a few hours if the filter is powered off.

Tried both methods, but the bottled BB method took almost as long cycling from scratch. I agree with Tawau's observation.

Oops... thanks for the tread.
Aiyah tread closed liao.... Cannot post anything. I agree with what tawauboy said and also wondered how the manufacturers keep them alive in a bottle?? Could they be just "sleeping" until you put them in the filter and they just sort of come alive? If commercial BBs are used to seed new filters why is it that it's better to seed filters using mulm, afterall they are the same BBs?
mulm is free.....
i don't know how commercially available bb are kept alive in bottles.
how are they triggered? i don't know.
so i don't use stuff which i am not sure how they work.
