can hv black water for planted tank?

i dont know of any side-effects.. i've had a blackwater planted tank for my tetras for a long time. Plants are all fine.

hmm, unless you are trying to breed tetras, otherwise where's the beauty in doing that? What good is a nicely aquascaped tank if it's black?

thought i wanna add some angel fish inside. i just wanna add abit of it, not to the extend of dark color type.

actually the black or rather brown will go away.... it won't stay brownish.... was told by some of the LFS ppl that if you have drift wood or bog wood in your tank the water will become black water as time goes by...

It will go away after eventually.. due to water changes.

Actually black water extract is not all that bad, it really depends on what's your priority, plants or fishes? You're basically trying to optimize the tank conditions for one of them (plants or fishes) it doesn't necessarily mean that one will suffer at the expense on the other.. it is just that one party will not be having an optimal condition that's all.

I think black water does affect the lighting level though.
Unless your lighting level is already on the high side.
Also depends on whether you are adding CO2. Black water (peat extract) will accidify the water more, which will aggrevivate the PH to even lower than the plain bicarbonate balance.

Or you could use Dennerle Black Water extract. The effect of black water without the black water itself.
