I am not very sure what is a "golden SAE" but it is definitely not a catfish, moved.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Are you refering to the golden 'CAE'? The Chinese Algae Eater... If so, the answer from me is 'Yes'... These fish are agreesive and territorial. They will also suck from the body from bigger fish if they learn that they can do that...

If you are unsure of what fish you have, just a pic of the fish.

I don't know why this fish is called Chinese Algae Eater..it's not a Chinese fish at all.

This happens to Chinese literatures too. For example Pikehead, Luciocephalus pulcher, it's Chinese name is "YIN DU HUO JIAN", meaning "Indian Rocket"! Not even an Indian fish!

I have a Chinese book published in HK in 1970s. The Chinese name inside are very different from what we see today in HK, China and Taiwan....
