    agree with you on the spelling, but since it is hokkien there's no "proper" spelling anyway. chao is no good as it is already closely associated with "stink". tsao is actually quite close in pronunciation for "run", it just isn't common. I used it in the context of it being mentioned by talkingcock.com

    i think run in hokkian is 'zhao'.. do correct me if i am wrong.. course i alway make mistake...

    there isn't a "correct" way since the dialects are not romanised. so it depends on whether the word is pronounced in the english way or romanised way.

    We do not like postings in SMS lingo because it is deemed as rude. And we do not have a minimum maximum number of characters limitation... EDIT: Ok, we do have a minimum...10 characters...

    Singlish is fine... As long as the non-English terms are explained for the benefit of targetted non-Singaporeans...
