hi farnieguy.... did you change the water for your live brine shimp?.
was told by lfs that water change can keep them alive longer..
hi fellow apistos lovers...
would like to ask, what are you people feeding your apistos with?![]()
currently i'm feeding them with live brine shrimps, which i thought would be good for them, but one problem is the brine shrimps die off when day passes..
i can't find a good way to keep them alive though.. i had a small air pump for them.. its 3rd day now and almost half had died..would frozen brine shrimps be as good also? i'm afraid they wouldn't take the frozen ones..
would it be a good idea to feed them with frozen artemia? anyone have experience on it? i don't want to see everything just sinks to the bottom..
i wouldn't be feeding them with frozen blood worms or rather live ones.. because i think they pollute the water pretty fast..![]()

Farnie, actually, adult brine shrimps has the least nutritional value among all the live foods available... Brine shrimp is more like potato chips for them...Originally Posted by FaRnieGuy
For me, I feed my apistos with a mixture of frozen BS (as snacks), frozen daphnia, freeze dried tubifex worms and TetraBits... Still trying to get my new pair of A. agassizii to take TetraBits... But they relish the frozen BS and frozen daphnia... For my Dicrossus filamentosus, they take every thing now...
I believe some of the other keepers hatch their own BBS which is used to feed the apistos...
I mix mine frozon bloodworms with Hikari guppy bits and 2 drops of garlic extract. Looks disgusting but this way the fishes get to eat everything.

I feed mine with a diet consist of live bloodworm, live tubifex and also tetrabits. Tetrabits is good for enhancing the colors of the apisto (but not limited to, can feed to any other types of fish that takes them).
Bbs is good but I'm just to lazy to hatch them.....
I have a big bottle of tetrabits, farnieguy PM me for details.
I feed my frozen BS and freshly hatch BBS....
Cheers!
