I am using 1x15W and 2x15W currently in my 2FT. And tied Riccia on a rock at the bottom placed on a particular bright spot. No CO2.

1 of the Tube half-blocked by the single lower 15W hood. No choice as no space maybe change to UGF to free another slot when I am back from Taiwan.

So considering 37.5W ... hopefully enough for it to survive and grow slowly

The measure of brightness is actually lumens or lux. The ads that says 20W = 100W is the compared FL/PLs to Incnadescent (as explained by Vincent). Which means to get 20W worth of brightness by fluorescent you will need 100W worth of power for incendescent.... understand?

I must remind you guys again that the 3W/g is juz a guide. Fluorescent tubes brightness only differs slightly in terms of brightness. So to answer your question, 36W means power consumed.... brightness is a different story.
    Cheers!!

UGF is not suitable for planted tank (rooted plants). For Riccia, they need lotsa CO2 and lights. Might want to rethink abt CO2, maybe DIY CO2?
