Hi I would like to know from jebao owner how they stack their canister media ie wool/sponge/ceramic rings. My jebao have 4 compartments so Im unsure what else to put, any idea ??
Also recently I managed to get very tiniest bubble in my diy internal reactor via an internal pump but when I check the Co2 of my tank using C02 indicator it state da Co2 is still low and my ph is 7.1
    I appreciate any advise pls.

I got this when I first started planted tank 1 1/2 years ago; not sure from where now. Hope this help

BTW I'm using Atman CF600 with 2 trays; both I'm using ceramic rings only.

"The correct way of organisation :
    Top tray - 2 layers:
    - Topmost is finest media, usually the fine white "wool".
    - Second layer is sintered glass... like Ehiem EhfiSubtrate... you can use any brand (cheaper), but make sure it's sintered glass, and not zeolite. Sintered glass is the biomedia. I like the brand Biohome.

Middle tray - sintered glass again.

    Bottom tray - two layers:
    - Topmost is a coarse filter pad
    - Bottommost is ceramic rings

There's a purpose for the use of ceramic rings. The water is divided into many smaller channels when they encounter the ceramic rings, each individual channel of water has much less strength then the combined flow so "large' debris (like fish poop) in the water is dropped instead of carried up where they clog the other media. This large debris drops into the cavity below the trays where they decompose and the resulting ammonia, etc feed the good bacteria in the bio-media.

You can replace the sintered glass in the middle tray with coarse filter pad if you feel that the sintered glass in the top tray is sufficient. In this case, you need not have a coarse filter pad in the bottom tray."

    Cheers

Hi Mab thx for ur reply im wondering ur atman canister water inlet goes to ur topmost filter which consist wool rite meaning dirty water hav to go thru the finest filteration, then coarse Filter Sponge last would be ceramic ring like EHEIM EHFIMECH Ceramic. Since jebao inlet goes all the way to the bottom of the canister so it mean I have to stack the finest media bottom and rings top most, correct me if im wrong sorry Im new wit canister

    Perhaps I can help.

Ceramic rings as described by mab will act as prefilter, it is the first medium that the 'dirty water' will run into. This will be followed by coarse sponge, fine wool, then your bio media.

In this case, the purpose of the ceramic rings is to break down larger waste so your coarse sponge will not clogged up too fast.

mab is right and ontop of that the ceramic rings will "evenly" spread the water so that the upflow water up the different trays will go thru all the medias evenly.
