The red pactches is irregular. Sometimes it's around the stomack and sometimes around the tail area. Some there is no visibble red patch (maybe died for more than an hour).

What do you add in your substrate? Tabs/spikes?

Those spikes and tabs for potted plants contains very high and concentrated NH3. If those spikes have softened and mixed into the water, it may have caused a NO2 spike.

    ----------------

Could be, but I dun have tester to check. What I can do now is juz change water.... wat else could I do?
    ----------------

Always do big water change after disturbing the substrate. Normally I do a 75% change. Not only reduce risk of NH3/NO2 poisoning but also risk of algae outbreak.

sigh.. me just lost a trilli, 2 lemon algae eaters, 6 black mollies... sigh.. now that i read that renovation might infect the surroundings.. and i think it might also be the bygon that i sprayed in my room that night.. sigh.. should be either one of the reasons...

FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.

    actually
you can just use some aquarium salt
    as for dosage

you need 20ppm cl- in the tank
    1ppm = 1 mg/l
    20 mg/l equates 0.02g/l
multiply ur tank volume by 0.02 to get the amount of salt needed

    ----------------
Dun add too much KCL aka losalt. It will kill your shrimps if you have them.. Happened to me a few days ago. Added too much KCL to both my 2ft and 5ft and all my shrimps died.

    UPDATE:

Almost all my apistos are gone. My rummy nose is down to around 10s from 30s. Cories left 5s from 15s. SAE all gone. Shrimps and otos did not suffer any caualties... weird. Zebra and Tiger pleco are ok... touch wood.

So many fish died until I lost count. That's why all the numbers not sure.

I removed the fish from tank 2 days ago except for the ones I couldn't catch. They were ok.... so now the fishes are back in the main tank.... hope they will be ok. Serves me right for overloading the tank. Wish my fish did not suffer my greediness....
    Cheers!!

Wah ... what if there is a mosqitoes and other insects in the house? Cannot use the insecticide then we become food for the blood suckers....

I had experience feeding the mosqitoes when I stayed watching my fish in the living room leh. Coz those blood suckers actually hide behind and under those cabinets!

Aiya, dun spray in the air lar...

I'm guessing the bioload is already overloaded but it was still under control. When I uprooted the my E.tenellus the fert got into the water causing the water to be high in NH3/NO2. Although my Eheim 2028 was running full blast (with some help of Eden 304), it wasn't enuf to handle it. However, this is juz guessing as I did not confirm by testing for NO2 or NH3.

As for now, I'm leaving the tank alone till I'm back from Thailand and see what I'll do to the tank.
    Cheers!!
