Hi cairocks,
I have not been there. Is it possible for you to upload some pictures ?
Thank you.![]()
Just came back from Hong Kong and of course, visited the legendary Tong Choi Street. Was really impressed witht the variaty of equipments there. So many equipments and brands that were unheard of in Singapore. And generally find the equipments about 60% the prices in Singapore. Wonder why is this so. Even European brands, like teco chillers, are priced about 60% that of Singapore prices. Are we being short changed? Also, anyone know are there any shops here selling ADA tanks? Can find them in HK on display but dun seems able to see any of them in Singapore. Dun think our spending power is weaker than HK ppl, right?

Maybe due to the volume. I know generally the loudspeakers prices in Taiwan is 70% of the price here because of the volume the distributors import. So this may be the same as the price of aquatic products here and HK.
Generally products in HK are cheaper than here because the city is tax-free. Also over there import control is less strict than us. If you recall those lou-han days, there were many cheap china-made pumps that burn down homes! SCDF issued a warning back then. An article also appeared in UK's PFK magazine. That explains.
Sorry, did not take any pictures when I was there. Was with a HK friend and we acted totally local.Originally Posted by hxy

It is basically a street about 150m -200m long with lots of fish shops on both sides and some upstairs. Spent 2 days there but still can only cover some of the shops only. Really impressive street.
Haiz....Tong Choi street is heaven. not only are prices cheaper, but the range of equipments are much more. Things like fluidized bed filters for example. The one I am using for my 100l tank is actually for 700l of water. But it is the only size I can find in Singapore. Over in HK, I can find some for 350l , 500l and 1000+liters of water. The range is so much more. Basically, now I find HK's 2 main attraction is eating and fish shopping. Hahaha. First time a see so many tanks of "Tropica" plants and whole row of fully set up ADA fish tanks!!!Originally Posted by alanyeo99
