nice rocks, but the bogwood doesn't seems to blend well. maybe try reposition at different angle to see whether it helps. you intend to introduce CO2? what's your lightings?

Guess the photo doesnt do the wood justice. It looked oversized! Perhaps will try to play around with the positioning of the wood. It is supposed to simulate a fallen tree.
Lighting wise, will be using a 2 feet 55w PL and Co2 will be injected.

Looks liked you got good material to start here ! The rocks looked very natural. I believe once you dress up the wood with moss, fern or nana it will blend in nicely.
May be is just my view point but perhaps can consider grouping all the rocks to form a mound at the right side to brace the root of the wood and let the left side to be a little open space ?
Bottomline you should keep trying out different configuration of the hard scape before frozen it, because it will be really painful if not impossible to change later. I read that some folks will just stare at the hard scape for days, shifting it around, before striking the ideal "ah-hah" moment. Try to draw the feeling from within....
Seems like you need plants before any good opininons can be made. Right now the hardscape looks good Althought imho if you don't include the wood, you can have a potential "zen"/mountain scape there.
Plant wise, still deciding between APP and glosso. Never tried glosso before. As for back ground, probably long hair grass. will have weeping moss on the branch.
Toying with the idea of a fissiden foreground but the cost will be prohibitive.
Trying to scape on Friday. Will play around with the rocks and wood again.

any updated pics? which foreground plants have you decided?
Finally finish my Reservist!
Waiting for the next world cup match, so have some time to update on the tank.
Manage to set it up with two foreground plant - HC and Glosso.
Most of the HC has melted except for some while the glosso and doing very well.
Not very pleased with the overall effect. Perhaps will change all the red stem plant.
BTW what's the scientific name for Hong Tai Yang?
Attached are 2 pics, 3 days after set up.
Advices for improvement most welcome.

Another update. Replaced the ludwigia with star grass. The HC is finally spreading. Good growth from the glosso.
Photo not too well taken. Will try taking it again.

I finally uploaded an avatar and Cupid is dead!!!
Thanks all for the complement.
Been really busy the past few days. No much time to trim. Will take pictures over the weekend.
Btw I usually take the picture during the night. However all the leaves would have folded by then. Any tips for taking pictures of the tank?
The sand i use is from NA, those $5 a packet white gravel.

Shift the plants bio-clock by changing the photo-period time, plants will adapt gradually and open their leaves at night.
