yeah, clean stable water is a must.

Still I do want to know as I am doing E.I on my tank and my lighting is rather on the high side. So far no algae on the moss but would like to find out more so I can tweak around with either the fert regime or lighting slowly.

you dont even need clear water, they thrive basically waters ranging from 23 - 28, any higher they still do grow but may not show the full range of their fronds.

Higher maintanence moss are varieties like erect moss which require high light and lowtemp, something usually only managed well with a chiller

Don't intent to use so much wattages for a moss tank else electricity bill will go up again.

I believe quite a number of the members here are heavily dosing their tanks with ferts and have high powered lighting, would like to get a more detailed explanation and understanding to your statements.

Well, since this kktan guy have all moss tank, so why bother dosing fert, EI, etc, & highlight...?
Moss is soooo easy to keep, like I said, only need cool temp if you want them to grow beautifully. They still grow in not so cool temp, but in my experience, their colour not so "fresh green".
If we use highlight & can't dose balance fert, I believe moss is the perfect part for algae to grow, that's my experience...
Well guys here use highlight because they don't grow moss only, besides, they have to dose balance fert & of course precise CO2.

If you go with all moss tank, just think simple & practical, IMO...
