    This is a short trip to search for natural cross hybrid of pitcher plant. After 1 hour of hiking in the Kerangas (health) forest of Matang, I finally found it!!! I think it should be Nepenthes xtrichocarpa !!!!

    Pix below : Kerangas forest is a dry & sandy forest where the soil is poor in nutrient.

    Nepenthes xtrichocarpa (pitcher on the left & right)??? (Natural cross hybrid of Nepenthes ampullaria & Nepenthes gracilis) **Note: The pitcher in the middle is N. ampullaria.

    Forest clearing for development is not far away from the site of Nepenthes xtrichocarpa !!!

    Snail. (Dyakia sp.) This species is very common in the Kerangas forest of Matang. Probably Dyakia mackensiana.

Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii

    Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

    100% confirmed from the expert that pitcher plant is indeed N. xtrichocarpa !!!! (Very rare over here)

    Yup...if not, it will got dark shadow due to the bright sky.


    I think I found 2 more natural hybrid today....still waiting confirmation for the ID from the expert.

    Also, found akarensis group of Betta for the first time in Batang Kayan basin.

    Also, found a damn beautiful terrestrial orchid in the Kerangas forest.

    Now.....DAMN Exhausted......will post the pix tomorrow.
