    let's just hope that the tank will be ready for some shrimps sometime later after the tank has been fully cycled.. the next time i'll be adding in shrimps might be 2 months later or maybe 3 months... it'll be a good time for the tank to get cycled because i'll be in tekong.

    Definitely not these elements that caused your shrimp death... We dose trace fertilisers too but the shrimps are still alive...

    It is normal for your base fert to have these, moreover, your base fert shouldn't be leaking anything, else it will mean an ammonia leak from your base fert... But it would also mean an algae farm due to the spike in ammonia in your tank...

    If no algae farm, then will point towards no base fert leaks...

    It will take more of the heavy metals than the amount leaked from the substrate... If copper is the cause, usually it is because the tank had been medicated before and the copper/heavy metal is retained.

    Best to let the tank cycle.
