hi all, anyone know if there is any recommended pH to maintain to effectively breed CRS. my current pH is ard around 5.8. is 5.8 too low or too high , pls please recommend thanks.

Edit: Please don't use SMS lingo. And pH is to be written as 'pH', not 'ph'.

Do you have any crs right now?

started keeping crs lately, do not have any experience breeding it. their desired pH be 6.5-7.2! But temperature will be the key in breeding them.

nope don't have any crs at the moment, intend to get some crs in probably in 1 to 2 months time. well from what i hear, pH and temp temperature plays a part in breeding. just trying to find out the optimum conditions to do so. thanks for the tip !!

thanks for the advise, but i guess its hard to justify the variation in grades as it is due to human perception.

How much do you change each time? You use aged water to change?

for 2.5 feet tank. i do not follow the 30% regime. i just extract 1 pail, and fill up with 1 pail. simple as that. scared if i increase to 2 pails, it might be more then 30%

Guess I will do half pail water change per water since mine is a 2ft tank.

no la, i dont mean it in that way. i mean, 1 pail water change should not be a problem. just remember when adding back the water do it slowy can already. well it also depends on your lifestock. if its crs then you might wan to slowy. if its cherries, heck care lah haha

I add the water using a air hose and let it run slowly into the tank.
