yes and no
they don't disturb plants, and are good at scavenging
but
they will attack small fish, no joke
Can feeder shrimps be used in a planted tank? Will they consume the plants? Has anyone tried using these shrimps as alternative 2 the malayan, yamatoes, tigers etc, etc?
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.

They will eat moss.

I had about 5-10 of them in my tank but they are wonderful cleaners!
Coz they are scavengers, you dun really need to take care of them and they help to clear up whatever that is left behind, food or dead fish.
As my tank are mainly those small fish, I don't see them attacking them?
For my X'moss, both the malayan shrimps and the ghost shrimps help to clear up all the rotton leaves leaving the rest nice and green.
BTW, they are much bolder too as compared to the malayan/yamatoes/bee/tiger shrimps. At least you get to see them everytime.

My feeder shrimps clear up every moss. In the end I clear up them. []For my X'moss, both the malayan shrimps and the ghost shrimps help to clear up all the rotton leaves leaving the rest nice and green.

its very interesting to watch these ghost shrimps. as they eat you can see their guts moving at the head region. and it will take on the color of what they ate.
