Unknown emersed crypt

Following the trend of plant ID threads..

I've been growing the above for about 1 or 2 months now, a old tank stand by the window standing in a tank of 2cm high stagnant water with daily mistings and partial coverage with a plastic cover. Weekly squirts of Ferka Aquatilizer and Balance-K and perhaps a change of the water bi-weekly.

I could very well be wrong but it *seems* like a C. Wendtii Green. Its a very beautiful plant you have there, it looks healthy

You will get a positive ID once it flowers. If you want to 'trigger' a bloom you can do this with light cycles: Keep a light cycle of 12 hours on / 12 hours off. Keep it like that for a month and then change the light cycle to a longer day and shorter night, say 16 on and 8 off. This will give you a 'shortcut' to your inflorescence.
There is a chap over on APC named Xema, he is a Crypt fanatic and can probably give you a positive ID.

Hello!!

Here I am...

As it´s said by Justikanz, C. wendtii 'Green' have green emersed and sumersed leaves. I have seen that striped on C. wendtii 'Brown', but I saw this purple color on leaves when I was growing my C. pygmaea under sunlight too. And C. undulata has similar patterns on the leaf sometimes, but generally has longer petioles.

In the follow pictures, you can see a similar purple pattern in the leaf near to flower. This plant show very large petioles and very broad leaf.

Another similar pattern in C. wendtii, this specimen has a very rounded leaves. See the light purple tone and the striped marks. This plant was named some time by me as cordata, due to the unussual rounded blade.

Following, the classical color and shape pattern of C. wendtii 'Tropica' under natural sunlight.

And a C. pygmaea under sunlight too.

By the way, I post some other C. wendtii patterns.

The next wendtii specimen came to me as C. wendtii 'Brown Rubin'.

And this other one which has a mix pattern between C. wendtii 'Brown' and 'Green', it is labeled as C. wendtii 'Red Lucanas'.

This one flowered regulary with an unussual reddish collar.

After this lot of pictures... I cann´t say a possitive ID... do you have any info about the origin??

That was interesting Xema! No I've no info... I bought it when it was a pot in my LFS, grew it submersed for a while and converted it back to emersed.

I have one of the emersed Crypts that is exactly the same as yours. It's a C.wendtii 'Brown' for me.

Does it look similiar ? I believe most LFS in Singapore got this from some local farm, hence all the same species. ( C. wendtii brown ?)

An off topic question seeking your expertise. Emmersed leaf of C. wendtii Brown will it rots commonly when first submersed ? And does the submersed leaf became green ?
