The 'head' of the antenna is essentially the same as the 'head' of the cable so it's pretty much self explanatory.

BTW, I'm staying near east coast at the moment, not sure if you can get the signal for the indonesia channels from where you're staying. Oh yar.. the price to pay is, the half time analysis is in bahasa indonesia but who's complaining?
    Hi folks,

Can confirm that Indonesia channel, SCTV did show the live match today. So it's not like our dear ch5, only show the head and tail kinda arrangment.

    Cheers

You know, we're supposed to be a first world country. The next time anyone tells me that, I'm going to punch his face.

I first took notice of the world cup in 1970 but back in those days, the games weren't shown on TV, not even a delayed telecast. The final game between Brazil and Italy was supposed to be one of the best finals ever but I've only saw the game on TV years later.

Then in 1974, the final between West Germany and Holland was shown live. For those of you who do not know what's black and white TV, that match was the first time a live telecast was shown in colour. Big deal. Yup, in those days, it was a real big deal.

In 1978, Argentina hosted the world cup and the 2 semi-finals and the final itself were shown live. The final was in fact delayed for a few minutes when the Argentinian team protested over a bandage worn by a Dutch player.

In 82, the world cup went to Spain. I remember how agonising it was for me when I watched the quarter-final game live between Brazil and Italy. It was one of the best Brazilian teams ever and they only needed a draw to go through to the semi-finals. Italy played badly in the earlier rounds but with Paolo Rossi in top form, they beat Brazil 3-2.

In 86, Maradona lived up to his reputation and almost single-handedly, won the world cup for Argentina. Most of the games were shown live.

After 86, almost all matches were shown live.

Now, I can only get to see the opening game, the 2 semi-finals and the final live. Damn. First world for what, like that? It's not like we don't have to pay TV licence fees.

I'm calling StarHub tomorrow to cancel all my other subscription groups. I'll just stay with the minimum package. It's not the money, you know. After all, for me it's only $15 or so as I'm already a subscriber to their sports group. And heck, I spend more than $15 a day on cigarettes alone.
    It's a matter of principle.

I watched Brazil of the 1950s-1970s on tv today. Their dribbling is amazing, a defender can skip not 3 but 4 of the oppostion team. Really amazing.

It's like the ball stay there stationary, the Brazilian arches his body forward to trick the opponent player and next second, he skips in the opposite direction, with the ball. Such artistry.

Of course modern football is much aggressive now. If anyone tries doing that, manager will condemn him as excessive display.

I was watching the England match. You guys didn't miss anything. I thought England sent a volleyball team instead. The ball seems to spend more time in the air than on the ground. Boring!

    Cheers,

p.s. I agree this SCV 'World Cup" package is a rip off!

haa! yea, most English premier league teams play long ball tactics, with a few exceptions of Arsenal. Maybe they are not too comfortable with the ball to their feet.

Just checking. I am not able to tune to RTM2 but RTM1 is OK, but fuzzy. Is it blocked? Have not got a separate antenna to try yet.

RTM 2 is blocked by our neighbours for transmission on SCV Starhub's network... RTM 1 is fuzzy "due to source"...

If got separate antenna, should be able to receive RTM 2 and even Indonesia channels if at the correct area of Singapore...

Ronaldo was so slow and Adriano is not deadly at all, Robinho is so pint-sized, I wonder if this Brazil team will make it far.

Yes. I enjoyed those 2 matches as well.
It is clearer than previous days. Except the streaming words from Starhub is a little annoying.

I really agree on this one. Last night match was a regret to watch. It seems that the team was banking on Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos. Kaka scored the only goal for that match. Ronaldo seems to be waiting for the ball upfront and can't even outrun anyone on the pitch, even the ball too seems to roll away from him. There's no 'samba' moves from the Brazil team. If they keep playing it this way, I won't be surprised it they didn't reach the quarter final.

The coach refuses to axe Ronaldo. If Ronaldo continues this way, Brazil is going to play with 10-men, and no 10-men team will go far.

Croatia already shown how to nullify Ronaldino. Brazil might have problems in the later stages.

I have all my plans ranging from mobile to broadband from Starhub so I guess I'm a Hubber. Im paying about 150 bucks a month to them yet I still need go to see WC 2006 at my friend's place. The biggest irony is that my friend didn't even pay a single cent to Starhub. He got it free through a "alien" black box Go figure! Its funny that all his plans are from Singtel too and he enjoys better mobile receptions at remote places compared to me. LIFE IS UNFAIR!!!

But the thing about watching soccer is that, though you can watch it alone at home, it is infinitely much better when watching it with friends. We both laughed ourselves silly at the antics of the referee in that explosive Italy vs USA match. There was also the occasional awkward silence when that late last-min goal seal the fate of our bets. The latter has been recently occuring at rate that is causing much discomfort to both of us.

I also know that anytime past 12 am, stomachs across Singapore gets rumbling. And of course you definitely noticed the McDelivery sign that flashes on your screen every few mins. It occurs to me that they are the 2 biggest winners of World Cup 2006. But we all are winners when we get to enjoy quality football with quality junk food, aren't we?
