    I was reading the label on my liquid ferti, its say that this fertilizer inhabit algae growth, is that true? If so why? thks

    technically not true, side effect.

    plants compete with algae and given good conditions , plants win, and algae die..

    There's a possibility that the fertilizer inhibits algae growth, but I don't know how to explain it. Try borrowing Ecology of a Planted Aquarium by Diana Walstad from the library. Even if you don't subscribe to her methods, you'll get a lot of insight into our hobby.

    I highly recommend it.
