It will be underpowered. Get a bigger model, perhaps a CL650.

visit my photo albums @ flickr!

It is under powered. I think CL650 also under power should get the next model after CL650. Mine(CL650) can't get the temp below 26 degrees....Tank: 4x2x2
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.

it's CL450 too much for a 1.5feet? Thinking of maybe investing for a chiller for my tank, which is going to house CRS
i'm using it for my 1.5ft cube (saltwater tank). no problems keeping temp ard 27C with a 150W mh + 2x24W T5 lights to light up the tank.Originally Posted by kemp

I use CL280 for 200L, cools to 24 celsius no problem, I got use a digital thermometer to check. On vs off periods about equal I think. I use 2800L/h pump dedicated to the chiller. Using 108W T5 lights. Pump wattage around 76W total. Hope this helps
Oh, the rare old Whale, mid storm and gale. In his ocean home will be. A giant in might, where might is right. And King of the boundless sea.
Sorry for bringing up an old thread; didn't want to start a new one unnecessarily.
I'm setting up a new tank of 3 x 1.5 x 1.5 feet; will a CL450 be adequate to bring the water temp down to 26 degree celsius? Without a chiller, the water temperature is around 29 degrees average a day. The chiller will be paired to a Ehiem Ecco 2236.
Thanks.)
