You can give the LFS at telok blangah rise a call cause they bring in alot of plecos usually on Saturdays. I bought my L183 from there quite some time back.

Valice, the LFS at Telok Blangah has 1 left. The shop name is Fish Haven. It's on the right side of the shop, centre row, 2nd tank after the entrance. They also have a lovely starlight bristlenose at the bottom, check it out.

If you are dropping by Geylang for the great food there, check out 'Fish Pet World', 185 Sims Ave... Quite a lot of cats, though they specialize in BIG fish... No guanrantees though, but it is a good place to drop by to see their LARGE fish collection!
    Read me! http://justikanz.blogspot.com/

    I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii

Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

Fish Haven, the Telok Blangah shop seems to specialise in plecos... Also PlecoHut definitely specialising in exotic ones...

Yeah, if you really love a Pleco, you'll try to buy it even if a 3inch costs $99 or... I won't go into the Zebra thingy.

From recent visits, excluding Gan's, guess Fish Haven will be a good place to visit if you want to start keeping Plecos.

Don't say you've not been warned - Pleco-keeping is highly addictive!

    P-L-E-C-O-R-Y=M-A-N-I-A!!! YEAH!
FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.

    Hi Stereo,
There is no such thing as a cheap exotic but there are plecos you can't get even if you are rich.

On the other hand, most of the plecos in Singapore ain't very expensive except for a selected few. It's a affordable addiction.. so what are you waiting for?? Hop in...

I agree... It is an addiction... Just like apistoes... The marriage of a apistogramma tank and a pleco tank will produce the perfect Amazonian biotope! Hahaha....

Another shop to try is the one at Kovan, old school but they are going towards the pleco way. Sorry, but I do not have the name of the shop top of my head.

I am looking for an algae eater, is L183 a good choice? Are L183 and Bristlenose the same pleco?

Bristlenose is just a common name to any pleco with the tentacle (don't know what's the scientific name) on the lips of the pleco.

To be exact, they are the Ancistrus species of the locarridae family...
Their diet is omnivorous but leaning towards the vegetarian side...

L183 for the price of an algae eater might put you off... Look for the more common ones will be better...

I think the shop you referring to is NKS or Neo Kian Swee? Something like that...

Blim try Otos or SAEs, they outperform any pleco on any given day. At least mine did Try to get the juvenile SAE as the adults are too greedy taking normal flakes than algae.
