I'm sure a better camera will serve the fish better. Good looking fish even with the blur picture so maybe you might wanna consider getting a better camera so as to show it's full potential~
    Cheers!

i got them from a guy that imports them from south america, he go's to our fish auctions and his prices are always pretty cheap as you can see from what i paid for them, on the bag his price is £7.50 per trio but he let me have them for a £5 for each trio.

Some pictures of the A. baenschi 'inka' male. He's not settled down yet, and just for benny this is how much they should have been, check out the web-site on the bottom.

i think it might be because of the ratio of females to males that they can offer trios, on his website he sells them in pairs, he also breeds them and sells the young F1,s at a reasonable price.

Nice looking fish and for a great price!

I'm guessing that it's either pH or temperature related where it's throwing off those ratios of 1:2.

Ibn mate these are wild fish, i meant when he imported them there were more females than males so he could sell them in trios.
    cheers.

Hey Mick, I noticed that note in your post up above.

Like most Apistos, depending on what temperature/pH they were collected, sex is most often tied to those two parameters and it was skewed towards one sex or another.

Of course, beyond that, there's always polygamy.

well they spawned today, but i can't see them keeping thier eggs the stupid male won't get out of the cave and the females getting very agitated with him, if he has any common sense he'd move out.
