shrimp eat anything. Doesnt really matter what you feed. fish food is good enough
I have a 4ft tank with 50 cardinals. The tank is heavily planted. Recently i added cherries and 100 malayan, hopefully to clear hair algae in the moss.
I hardly see the shrimps but at least can see some on the gravel very busy and it appears that they are eating something.
I am wondering whether i should feed the shrimps with algae waffle or something in addition to those pellets i drop in to feed the cardinals?

I think with so many shrimps, better feed them.

Unless you have lots of mosses and algae in the tank, else need to feed them with some shrimp food.
You can feed them every other day a couple of algae waffers. That should be enough, until they start to reproduce.
Try feeding them!
Its quite a pleasant sight to see all of them gather around the wafer.
But they might stop cleaning up algae!
Thanks for the advice.
Yes. My tank has lots of moss and unfortunately, also visible hair algae on moss. My shrimps seldom come out and most of time, hiding in the thick vegetation. It would be nice to see them coming out to feed on the shrimp food.

Do they even eat hair algae in the first place?
