Are clams good for planted tanks?

Where did you see them?
I would think clams need a regular supply of plankton or other food particles that they can filter out of the water (some books I recall say that they are excellent for clearing out green water). So it's likely that the typically crystal clear conditions of a planted tank would cause them to starve.
i'm curious too, where did you saw them at?

Clams filter food from the water. Not easy to keep, unless you are already keeping wood shrimps and they are growing well.
You might want to get a turkey blaster as well if you are keeping them. Then you can squirt the food (liquid fry 1, 2 maybe? or green water?) near them or when they open up to try to feed...

Recently i saw some fresh water clams at bedok blk416
saw them at the new tiong bahru market. think it's call golden clams.
so they are good?
Are they the same ones you see in the reservoirs? Looks very much alike.
