    Hi all,

My 9L small tank for cherry shrimps. Inside have 16 cherry shrimp. I saw one or two shrimp pregnant. Water temp is around 20 ~22 degree.
    Hopefully to breed !

Not really know the water parameters, but it should be fully cycled, so far the shrimp seem to be quite active. Might add some small tube for the shrimp to hide.

This morning i found two dead ! I throw the body into another main tank in my pantry side. The angel fish really love shrimp, one mouth can shallow the whole shrimp.

Update on my cherry red shrimp on my office tank. Added two PVC piping, can see some of it hide inside. So far so good, all 8 survivor are going strong.
They start to roam around freely. Except, my office aircon is 24/7 run. The temp can stay as low as 19 degree. Do your all think i should buy a small heater for the shrimps?
I plan to add in Red/White shrimp soon.

    Re: My office shrimp tank

I don't think it's giving birth. It's probably just cleaning the eggs. It does this once in a while once berried. Very rare to see it give birth. They usually hide when it happens. From what I think 19 degrees should be ok. Shrimp generally do ok in colder temps. But don't quote me on this. Personally never tried it. Maybe can wait for more experienced shrimp keepers to reply.

Its not necessary to use a heater for cherry shrimps... though with lower temperature their growth/activity rate naturally slows down, and their breeding and gestation period of the eggs also tend to take more time.

Nice tank! I have a tank like yours which also homes RCS! When my tank was in the office it had about 1 death every few days at the beginning. Now that I've brought them home, they're all doing well and very active!

This is an older picture. I have since added HC to try to cover the whole foreground.

Since jan 15 i setup this tank, my RCS really breed like siao ! At least 30+ shrimplet and they started to grow colour.
Added a heater and maintain 25 degree, as my office aircon is freaking cold.

I change it monthly once like 30%. I use distilled water to topup weekly.

How to? I just take out and place into HOF to tumble. Don't have an egg tumbler. But that is provided the eggs have not died when I see the dead mother.
