Time to go get that tank now and tell her who the man of the house is and she will be told that she will like it and that the chlorox bleach is now banned in the household.

Which is a better deal people?

    1) having 2x 56L; 1x20L; 1x 1ft cube; and 2 other tubs of sorts, but one of the 56L belongs to the wife. or

    2) condensing all into 1x 4ft tank?

I'm yet to claim my Christmas 2004 present which my dearest is waiting to give me: a 4x2x2 tank.

But I have to give up the other tanks, which is difficult because her tastes are for the Black Ghost knifefish kind of critters, and mine are the boraras and rasboras.

    What would you choose?
    Warm regards,

    Lawrence Lee

well... i dont think shes gonig to give up her 56 litres right? so all in all you're just giving up one 56 litre and a 1 ft.. you get a 4 fter back in return.. so total only give up one tank...and some tubs.

    Hi Sfchung,
Sorry I couldn't reply earlier, I was up to my ear with work. The plant you bought is a Aponogeton Ulvaceus. As to your second question, my stand is, "My way or the highway". You buy your Prada and I'll get my Potassium Anyway, just make sure you buy something for her just as the same value to keep the peace. It's a delicate balance but well worth the effort so be brave.....

This goes along the line of beauty in the eyes of the beholder, the discus or the luohan. Or both in the same tank..sounds blasphemous.
But seriously, the beauty lies in your eyes. Get the hint.

The folks at Teo only know the Chinese names. Other plants that I got from them remain nameless too I am resorting to websites such as Tropica and Plantgeek and try my luck there.

The missus didn't insist on trip #2 to Teo and Gan. I guess she has enough. Phew!

Err... Think the knifefish will have his rasboras and boraras on the plate for breakfast, lunch and dinner... So think it is better to give up one tank for your 4x2x2...

But, personally, I would prefer keeping multiple tanks so that I can have different species or water conditions in the different tanks... Rather than kanna restricted by one hugh tank which can only have a couple of species in same water condition...

Next time when you head to Teo's place to get plants, go to the back of their 9 ft tank, where the shelf is, looking for the Oriental plant book and flip to the picture of the plant you one and show it to the uncles there...

That's a confirm way to get the plants you want.

Precisely my sentiments. It is to choose either all those tiny tanks or one big tank.

Choosing one big tank means her fishes and plants (anubias, knifefish, tiger barbs, loaches and assorted other "nasties") eventually climb up the superiority ladder while mine will become fish food.

OTOH, having many small tanks frees me with more avenues to try different other biotopes. But I have a plan that is building...

I'll claim the 4 footer but "I'll give it back" to her. Since she loves big, carnivores, I'm thinking a low tech tank with pink luohan lamps, a huge driftwood with some anubias, and 5 large Pacus.

What do you think? I think I can live with that if I get to keep my little-fish tanks.
    Warm regards,

    Lawrence Lee

Don't you fellas have enough things to quarrel about with your wives?
Want to fight over fish and tanks, somemore!

But seriously, collapsing multiple small tanks into one big tank is a natural evolution. Most people will end up this way given enough time, mark my words. It happened to me.

So much for elmike's "Theory of Tankolution."

you do have a conundrum presonally in this case more is more Have you not learnt how to use your "puppy eyed look on wife" , and umm excuse me for mentioning this but if your loosing tanks and wife using new tank for "her" fish how does this make it your present?
me thinks you need to seriously talk to your wife
after all fish tanks are very pretty decor hehehehe
