The garden plant nurseries, especially those which supply pond/water feature stuff tend to have floating plants too. Maybe you can try the Far East Flora near Queenstown or some other nurseries in the west?
like the topic says ^_^
i'm a newbie and i just want to try a really simple something-green-floating-on-water kinda plastic tank.
i'm thinking of water cabbage/lettuce (preferably the smooth leaved type, not the one with ruffles). Possibly some salvannia natans (sp?), elodea (to keep away the algae?), moss balls too. the later two i think i should be able to get from any LFS.
and mozzie tablets/powder to keep the larvae away (i don't want to deal with fish).
but where can i buy floating plants when i don't have a car?![]()
i'm in the west side. have looked around some lfs but they only have submerged-plants, no floaters.
as a last resort, i might have to go to the zoo and snip/steal some from the urns in front of the entrance.
previous trip to farmart = waste of time. no floaters 'cept the leftover rubbish from the lady who used to have a nice lily/water-cabbage/etc unit there.
