Hi,
Took a little peek at C328, and they have the albino X-ray tetras.
Got myself 4 of them.

Why not get the original ones? The albino ones still OK but I don't think looks "normal".
Worse is not to get the dwarf ones. They are purposely bred for that stunted trait. I see those swimming with difficulty.
With luck and eough vegetation cover in your tank, these X-ray Tetras breed quite easily in the tank. I have witness several frys in my tank they grew to adults.![]()

Hi,
I used to keep normal X-ray tetra before, they are lovely little fishes, reminds me of a bee in water. Since getting a pair of albino red-eye tetras, i want to collect more albino tetras, i find them unique.
I don't know anything about dwarfing, never seen it before, but if they are purposely stunted, it's not my cup of tea, and would be against that, same goes with dyes.
Do you know if albino tetras have been purposely bred this way? I hope its not man induced, or interferred.
practically all albino specimens in the trade are bred, since they don't occur in the wild in large numbers. wild not as bad as dyed and stunted strains, I still prefer and advocate the "normal" ones.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
