anyone knows why some cherry shrimps have green eggs & some have orange eggs? Sorry for the poor photography skill.
Yes, I do have Yamato & green shrimps in the same tank. They are not known to cross-breed, right?

they mind their own business, have never seen them mated or whatsoever

i fed them with Hikari algae wafer (greenish grey) and fish food (reddish). Yes, I do noticed the colour in their gut (if that's what they're called) follows the colour of the food they eat, but not too convinced the same applies to their eggs. Anyway, the eggs have hatched and I saw some shrimplets this morning - really delightful sight!!!

i think the colour of the eggs is due to the developement of the eggs.
i'm guessing yellow (light) undeveloped and green (darker) more developed.

Hi, I feed my cherry shrimps with Hikari algae wafer, but their eggs are still orange in colour... Wonder what causes the change in colour...

like what some said, it's due to the different stages of egg development. If you really want to be sure, I guess you'll have to isolate that one from the rest using an acrylic tank divider, otherwise, you wouldn't know which is which
