Anyone given a thought about water coming in from copper pipes? Will it harm those shrimps? or is it copper salts that does the harm?
It's not just "Step1: Add Water, Step2: Add Fish" If everything else don't work, add plastic plants and fish

It's not harmful. Almost all our homes use copper pipes.

if water is held in copper container long enough, the copper leached may kill your shrimps. however, you use water every day so there should not be enough time for the water absorb enough copper to reach lethal levels.

Copper pipes are quite inert. The copper oxide form on the surface of the pipe is quite stable and prevents the leaching of copper into the water. Like Thomas said, if you are constantly using the taps, the water turnover rate is quite high, leaving the contact time between the water and the pipes relatively short, thus reducing the amount of copper being leashed into the water. pH of tap water, for a very good reason, are also kept >7.8 or 8.0 to prevent corrosion of the pipes.

If you are also using water conditioners, most of them will also deal with the copper in the water.

Therefore, on the whole, one need not be excessively worried about copper in the water.
