The idea is to trap them. Put them in a bottle, so if it disintegrate, it should still remain in that bottle.

I tried the puffer method. The snails are rather smart, they all hide in the sand during the day and the puffer couldn't get to them. After the puffer is gone, they all appear again. I found the puffer dead last week. I am doing a manual removal of snail operation and so far, the snails I have caught 307 snails and counting after 5 days. It is just a 2 ft 100liters tank and there's so many snails caught. I can still see some snails moving ard in the sand.....wondering how many are there in there. hee

I've had my old 1.5ft tank completely covered by the Malayan Trumpet snails on every glass panel and on the gravel and in the gravel... And I would still be removing near hundreds daily...

They are too hard to be squashed. Need hammer to do that.

no food = no snails.. Bottom line. Only feed what your fish will eat in a few minutes. Whatever sinks to the bottom manually remove. As for the bottle method, take a 1L bottle. Cut the top off where it begins to narrow. Invert the top and place it back on the bottles inverted so il looks like a funnel. Before placing the top back on put a piece of blanched spinich or zuchini in the bottle. you can drill some holes large enough for the snails to get in along the side of the bottle or you can leave it as is. Place in the tank and clean daily.

Sighs... Puffers are fish too you know... do not mistreat them please...

But in this case the DP you got is not really doing a great job.
Homo Sapien is still best I guess... let your fingers do the talking... but its gonna be tedious...

As mentioned, most puffers do not/can not handle MTS. The conical shell is just too hard and too strong for the puffer's teeth...

Hope you get rid of them soon... BTW... if anyone has an infestation of any other kinda snail... I am glad to take them off you...

    Cheers,
    Jason

Put in the boiled spinach then all the snails will gather and enjoy their last dinner. Then quickly remove the entire spinach together with snails using fishing net. A spinach will able to lure 10+ snails, my record high was 20+ snails :P. By the way, i prefer using tweezers to crush them and i enjoy doing it .. gee gee gee .....

This sounds like a good idea.

hi, i dont understand much about snails but when i had a few in my planted tank i introduced a few clown loaches & ho!! there were all gone in week. also i have heard about putting a salad leaves in the tank in night and by morning time you will see many snails feasting on it. repeat the procedure till you are sure there are no more snails. just make sure you are putting new salad leaves everyday else the leaves start rotting.

I don't think they work, I have a 2FT tank with 6 Kuhlis and the tank is overrun by snails Or maybe the kuhlis can't read.

kuhli loaches sure dont help in getting rid of any snails. for that matter i dont think they are used in any sort of pest or algae control (with respect to aquarium ofcourse ).
