Hi guys, I have a female Borelli whose belly has been bloated or rather swollen for the last 4 days. Its still behaving normally, eating well.
How can I reduce the swelling and what caused it?
    Appreciate your help.

is she near the surface? grasping for air? r her scale protuding towards? like a pine cone? is she yellow in color? constantly guarding an area with the male? is there a tint of black at her pectoral fins?

Btw what do you guys use to treat dropsy and is it effective?

gerald, sound like bacteria infection or ucler to me. maybe can get some internal bacteria medications but i'm not sure whats good in the mkt. Once any of my apisto get this sort of infection the survival rate in pretty low, they don't seem to be very tough.

She's behaving normally. Still hiding at her usual hideouts, not gasping for air at the surface and her body other than the belly are all normal. don't think its dropsy right? And don't think its eggs. Or maybe still too early to tell.

Went to the Toh's farm on Sunday. Told them the condition and I think they did say something like a bacteria infection if I understood them correctly. But not too sure.

yap, read that by the time you can obviously tell that the fish is having dropsy its usually quite serious and internal organs might been damaged
