Marine chiller also can. No difference. How big is your tank?

It's not just "Step1: Add Water, Step2: Add Fish" If everything else don't work, add plastic plants and fish
I got mine too from a marine hobbyist too, few months ago. All you need to do before you buy it, is to check for rust. (Best if the owner is willing to open the top casing for inspection).
If not, looking into the heat exhanger side (container that chill the water) from the front of the compressor fan. Observed and check if there's any orange color stain (rust) around the valve of piping connecting to the heat exhanger and also the base of the chiller. That should be alright, of course check also the chiller capability lah....
When you bring it home, flash the exchange with water follow the recommended path in to out. Don't be surprise to find debris and fine sand. And if you are not using immediately suggest you use a plastic bag to cover the opening. Tiring![]()
Alternately, you can approach Mr Tan from Bioplast to handle all the above for you.......![]()
Hmm... you don't know the pros and cons and you are already considering it....
Anyway, lower tank temperature will equal better conditions for your plants and fishes. Around 25 to 27 degrees will be fine. The down side is the heat generated from the chiller, as well as the noise when it kicks in.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
