Have anyone come across this shrimps??
heard from my friend that is selling at a LFS. Read about it at other forum too, discussion whether is it a new breed and some claimed is a low grade of crystal red shrimps. Price claimed to be 4 bucks per piece, saw picture of them, quite nice.

Red zebras look nothing like low grade CRS... Saw them at Colourful, next to NA... Pretty nice... Just like zebra shrimps, but with red lines...

If I am not wrong, this shrimps very shy. Always hidding, if you don't see it feeding at all. Try keep them separately, it breed direct shrimplets too.

    Good luck....

    Good luck....

you are right...very shy...not sure whether CRS is too fierce a companion to them...all these shrimp were "chase to hide into the gap of the filter system..whereas the CRS are all in the open...

If it is the pic as shown in AF, it was named purple zebra shrimps. Now it has renamed to red zebra shrimps to get some relationship with crystal red shrimp?

Purple Zebra Shrimp is evasive, hardly or never see them come out to feed in open.
It is High order breeding form, so one may have luck to breed them in captivity.

It is a very peaceful shrimp, more likely to be bullied then bully others.

I can only tell you what tank setup is not successfull:
    - adasoil tank, PH = 6, 24 to 28C
    - baretank, PH about 7, temperature 27C.
    - lapis tank, PH about 7.2, temperature 25C

sorry, i don't get what you said, you mean the three setup you mentioned not successful in keeping them? if an established cherry shrimps tank, is it ok? or their living condition are identical to which other shrimps like bee shrimps, crystal red shrimps...etc??

Yeah the 3 setup was bad for them. So I guess your cherry tank will not be any better. There is something missing.
