Lighting problem

Hi. started fish keeping in january this year by mistake. bought tank as a present but fell in love with it myself. My problem is this. Live in ireland and have a jewel 60 tank,50L, 2ft long and can only get a 15w 18" tube wich i am being told are the ony w availible for this size tank. as i am starting to keep plants i realy need bigger lights. Does anyone else have this problem or are there any suppliers known that will ship to ireland. only problem i am finding with ALL aquatic sites is that they are all based in america or other countries and a lot of what is talked about is not availible here in ireland.

Is your tank a Rekord 60? It seems that there is no light upgrade options for Rekord 60.

Another alternative is to DIY. Look for parts from your local electrical store to either add additional light sets or replace the existing one with a higher wattage ones. You can try replacing with compact fluorescents (aka PL lights) or T5 HO FL.
