Err... I need some urgent help...

My 2026 is giving me some priming problems after cleaning... Thought I broke the impellar, so I bought a new one... But upon inspection, realised it was not broken... *Waste money*...

Bought the Instalation kit 1 but still useless...

The filter seemed to be priming, expelling a lot of air through the outlet (so, that does the impellar is working, right?) and then everything just stopped... Nil water movement!... And I can't push down on the self-priming push 'button' anymore... What is wrong??

And it doesn't help that my back is aching badly due to a slipped disc problem...

My tank had thus been filterless for 2 days liao...

And so I need URGENT help on this. Besides helping me solve this online, if any kind soul can some over to my place (Jurong West, if need be I can pay for your transport) to take a look at the problem and help me solve it... PLEASE call me at 98434134...

A big THANK YOU in advance...

    hi mate
it sounds like you might have a massive airlock in the pipes, i have a filter very similar to yours you need to empty the filter and start again but using your sucking power to draw the water into the filter, once full start the motor if you hear a hissing sound shake the filter to get rid of the air thats near the impellar.
hpope it works and sorry to hear about your back problems i know how you feel.

Filter was empty and I filled the inlet tube with water using the installation kit 1. Once the power turned on and the tubes are connected, a lot of air is expelled through the outlet. It seems for a moment that the canister is being filled and the air pushed out... But it just suddenly stopped...

Hi Justikanz, when you say that it suddenly stopped, is the impeller still turning ? (it will be making a lot of noise if so). If it is still turning, your filter is probably drawing air into it. Make sure your inlet does not draw air into the tubing. Also make sure the rubber ring of your filter cover is properly installed so that there is no air leak.

    Cheers,

Does the priming aid "button" (seems too big to actually call a button... ) come back up once you release it? If its not coming up smoothly, consider some vaseline on the inner area and also try some on the o-ring area. Feeling the motor area to see if there is slight humming action.

Peter, I also feel weird calling it a 'button'...

It is 'up' and could not be pused down now...

CP, there is just no more noise after the bubbling stopped...

Can try some of the methods listed in this thread http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ead.php?t=1541
I wouldn't rely on the priming at this moment since it doesn't seem right.

All canister and pump have to ensure no airlock. You have to ensure you fill up your 2026 upto brim , close the cover, put a pump/powerhead inside your tank and stuff the output to the inlet pipe, then let the air purge out from the canister until it smooth out, lastly turn on your 2026 power to see if it runs. Subsequent remove the pump/powerhead to confirm.

Have you remedied the problem? If not, I'll swing by later. Sms me your address.

Since it is spoilt, can I have the damaged unit?
It's not just "Step1: Add Water, Step2: Add Fish" If everything else don't work, add plastic plants and fish

I'm sure for the right price, you can. Why don't you make him an offer he can't refuse?

If it turns initially, it can't be spoilt. There's a small magnet attached to the impeller, is it still there? It should fit the 'hole' just nice. If there is too much tolerance, the magnet is damaged. Can buy for about $10-12 bucks I think. Alternatively, check for hairline crack near the motorhead or where you attached it. Also check your tubings have any 'apple snail' stuck inside.( just joking )just check whether you have anything stuck inside them. Have fun...and take care.
Oh yeah, forget the primer I never bother with them also because mine also push 1 time and takes 1-2 mins to bouce up again.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.

The thing is, now, when I switch on the filter, there are no more noises... The filter is quiet and there is nil water movement... That's why I suspect a motor problem...

Not sure if you have tried this.. hold the motor unit of the filter with the impeller facing you and turn on the power supply to the unit. If the impeller does not move, use a stick-like-thing to try to kick start the impeller. If still nothing happens, it is confirmed dead

Won't the motor heat up too much if it is not spoilt? And will the impellar 'popped' out? Sorry, I am generally a paranoid person and this sounds dangerous to me... Haha... But I guess I can try this as a last resort before sending the whole thing to Qian Hu... Luckily, it is still within the warranty period...

The coil inside the canister has an open circuit and that can't be repaired.

Aiya, not asking you to do it for 1 hr right? Just to test if indeed the motor is dead. The impeller will not pop out even if the 'repeller restrainer' is taken out. Trust me, I have done it many time before. If the motor still works, you will see the impeller spinning and stopping and spinning and stopping.

Anyway if it is under warranty then mai-tu-liao, quickly go to QianHu when this method fail.
