    hi bros,
    i'm newbie in planted, just got some stuffs from a friend to start a 2ft tank.

    got a 15W FL BOYU 2ft light, is it possible for it to mod to 36w?
    or should i just use the 15w lighting and also get another 36w?

    erm.. im not doing CO2..

    advise?

    Yes it is possible, but whether or not a neat job can be done is another story . Try Nature Aquarium, they mod lights I think. Other LFSes should also have this service.

    Imho I'd just get a new set, E-ballast.

    and recommendations for 2ft lights?

    eBallast or conventional magnetic ballast can be used interchangeably with either PL or FL tubes. eBallast is preferred because it is cooler and energy saving.

    Do a search for "eBallast" in "Equipment & Accessories" forum to find out more.

    2ft lights are simple and common. As suggested, drop by Nature Aquarium to have a look. Or look around in the marketplace forum. Could be lucky to find something you need.
