I was reading the CO2 calculation and in Chuck's report, it says that the table is not accurate if there is phosphate in the tank. I use Seachem Phosphrous, can I still use the table for calculation of CO2 level?

Not likely at the level we are dosing per week as long as you keep up with the water changes. Then again, most equipments do have errors and that might be another issue. You can get close but not a perfect value.

Go non-CO2 then if that is an issue.

Friend, our water bill is about $2 per cubic metre ($1.17 per cubic metre plus the $0.30 waterborne fee and 30% tax and 5% gst).
I don't know how big is your tank. But if you are changing 1000L of water monthly, it still cost about a lunch.
    The killer is the electricity.

But of course going for a low tech will save on water and electricity too as Peter suggested.

Try saving the tank water to water the plants and flush the toilet to cut costs too. Why flush the toilet with good drinking water?

My tank is 3 feet only ... I did not really bother to check how much my monthly water bill is ... juz that the thot of changing half a tank is scary... so my worries is really uncalled for. Thanks!
