I separated my 2 luo han using a divider. Somehow the small one managed to cross over to the bigger territory. When I recahed home today, its tail fin was being biten off by the bigger one. Very sim tiah you know. Just want to ask whether the tail fin will grow back over time ? Thanks.

    yes it will
    as with other fish

    keep water quality good.
Mininmise stress to fish in every way.

    add aquarium salt
a rough guide is 6 heaping teaspoon per 50litres (abt volume of a standard 2ft tank). keep this dose for about 4-5days..then reduce by 1/2

if your fish is in originally good healthy, it will definitely heal well

in the case of the tail, it will grow back but depending on how bad the injury is how well the tail grows back. a severe injury may result in a growing tail, but not as beautiful as before. judging from my past experiences with other fishes, they rarely regenerate back nice tailfins that have been nipped off just like bettas and not to mention our infamous house lizards. break off their tail, a new one grows back. but not as nice as before.

yea as said in lsz's post, minimise the stress to the fish. it's best to remove it to a tank of its own to recover from the attack. give it time, good food and plenty of space and privacy, it'll grow back to full health.

The tail of my gold fish has been biten by other fish. What should I do to make the tail grow?
