U can give some to me, my newly set tank is still quite empty.
It's not just "Step1: Add Water, Step2: Add Fish" If everything else don't work, add plastic plants and fish

If not, perhaps you can ask a relative or friend to pop over to feed them? There are also those automatic feeders available at LFSes.
Oh, fishes can live on without food for couple of weeks. That's something new i have learnt today. Thanks.
Btw, what is the price for an automatic feeder?

Hi bro, giving you some is not a problem. it is better that they being adopted by you rather than seeing them die due to overcrowding. btw, where you stay?

    Hi Francis,

Bigger fishes are better compared to smaller fishes at substaining without food for a couple of weeks. However, just in case everyone starts starving their fishes, I must stress that this practise is not recommended and should be avoided as far as possible!

Perhaps some of the other forumers can help you with the price of an automatic feeder.

    Hi Francis,

when I began with fishkeeping, I took listened to the advice of LFS shopkeepers. They never were helpful, experience can't replace knowledge.

I think the main concern here is your water. Like what the others have said, cycling is very important.

But with your livestock, and the necessary feeding regime, it's a brew for trouble if you do not get a better filter.

    Hope it helps.

    Rgds

I think you need to put WC after rescaping under the list of must thing to do if you want your fish to make it to the next day.

IME upturning the substrate releases a lot of toxins that has been brewing in it from decomposition etc. A large WC should dilute it to healthy levels for the animals.

set up a small fish tank (6" x 12") for my friend. Install a filter and a clip on light. Initially put 6 tetras in the tank and without any plant, it is perfectly ok until last week added 3 Guppies and a plant to the tank. Since then, each day a fish died. Fishes died include 2 Guppies, 3 neon tetra. 50% water changed. situation not improving. Now left 1 guppy and 2 tetras. Your comments, pls. Thanks

    It is the same problem!
You did not cycle the tank... And that small tank can't cope with the increase of bioload of 9 fishes... So ammonia spike, the most fragile fishes go fist...

And wait for it to cycle before adding new fish... Once the tank stop seeing death, then you add the fish slowly... Keep the bioload down if possible...

Thanks for your advice. Now then realise that fish keeing is not as simple as I think initially. It really need a lot of patience to ensure fishes are well kept. Still plenty things to learn from all of you here.

haha, you are right! Started off the hobby of fish keeping to keep myself destress. now look like I am stress up with the death of fishes. initially, every day before and after work, will admire my fishes swimming happily in the tank. nowadays, looking for death fishes in the tank before and after work. Stress hah. so, must learn to be more patience and relax now in order to enjoy the joy of fish keeping.

    Hi Francis,
Keeping fish has always been easy and enjoyable but we always have a way of complicating it. Food for thought, enjoy and welcome to the club.
