I just a Eheim 2213 or 2215 filter from a fren, but not sure if it is working, as it was not used for more that 5 years. The filter consist the canister, cover. It has the inlet and the outlet with each a tube. Is there any thing missing to this equipment?

How can I do a test it is working properly before I implement to my tank.

    Tank you.

after connect it to the electrical mains,
u might want to fill up a pail and put the inlet and outlet back into the pail and check for water movement.. however, that might be a bit dangerous if there is electrical current leakage... also, check for leakage in the canister.
