Barbus fasciolatus - African banded barb

Choy.. so fast ah.. i bought some too today..lol.. however i saw them at 328. i got myself 5pcs.. how to pass it up neh.. see this fish liao = must buy..
i like rubbed my eye twice.. har?? are you sure?? then i walked over to auntie and asked for net liao.. mai tu liao (don't delay any further).. scooping time..lol .
i'll post some pics when they colour in more.. they are wonderful when teh redness sets in.

the other specimen was redder, but his caudal lobe was torn. I think they play rough.

yup.. shoot them all you want.. they are pretty jittery when you go near though.. shoot via cable loh.. high f-stop.. focus one area.. if fish near by.. cable activate.. boom.. sure nice one. i'm considering changing all my H.amanadae in the 2ft to this.. hmmm... itchy backside..hhahaha..

Quixotic.. c328 has a whole tank full of them.. no excuse now.. besides.. very rarely see this fish.. so better go grab..The african barbs and other small cyprinids are damn hard to get.. expecially those found in the sierra leone.. but those fish damn nice. Now that B.faciolatus is in.. the only other one that i really want is B.jae... so hard to find.. haiz.. then i will branch off to shooting characidium or some odontocharacidium.. which you almost never see in singapore.

Yeah, hardly find African fishes around, so the temptation is VERY strong. Neolebias and B. jae on my wanted list but will they ever be here?

What is the rare Characidium? That's another fish that is in my interest list. Damn, you guys are making my heart itch...

ranma, i find your shots more natural than choys, i know that choy is only interested in the fish which is also good,
btw the second pic of yours gives you a good indication of the difference in the sexes, the females have more bars than a male and also they are thinner.
