My driftwood has moss overgrown all over it and I'm trying to find a way to remove all the moss without lifting the driftwood out of the tank and causing Hiroshima.

    Anyone have any innovative ideas?

Use scissors to cut and net to scoop?

Or just pull out the excess ones? Just make sure you hold down the wood and not lift it up as you pull the moss...

    My lousy 2 cents...

    I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii

Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

i do the trimming during water change.
Trim the moss, then use the water hose to suck out the detached moss.

I can trim just fine, I want to entirely remove the moss so that parts of the driftwood can be bare.

It's getting tiresome and ugly. It's Java moss plus Taiwan(not sure). I think mine's mostly Java... because it sticks like mad to the wood surface.

I've a wild idea of injecting Excel daily onto parts of moss I want dead...

Just pull the chunk out and suck out the dirty water immediately, followed by water change after that...

you'll probably need to get your arms wet and detach it underwater? causing minimal disturbance......

just ripped it off slowly. Don't use scissor to cut else no matter how you siphon you will have bits of moss growing everywhere and if you have HG lawn, good luck.. the moss will eventually be locked with the HG.

After ripping the moss off you will still have some small ones stuck to the wood. Over time the moss will grow and you can do another round of ripping the new ones off. Eventually all will be removed.

I patiently ripped off as much as I could... man the sight of driftwood colour really changes the scape impression.

I'll try jetting excel to kill off the remiaining strands.
