Placement of light on tank (something i experimented)

Hi guys,
this is what i did last week and discovered amazing results in my tank.
my tank is 1.5 ft,
i have 3 lights (2 pcs 18W PL 1.5ft and 1 pc 9W PL 1ft).
usually people place the lights across the length of the tank (light parallel to length of tank) right? but for me, last week i put my light parallel to the breadth of my tank, the tank seems to be brighter than before

on wednesday nite i just trimmed my hairgrass by 2 cm. but now they have grown even taller than before. looks like i need to trimmed it by next week. my mini riccia has also bubbled and grown to a very rich green and healthy...can harvest very soon. very soon i can have my pics up in about 1 month or less.
i place my lights at about 2 inches apart. in fact 2 lights are sufficient already. since i got one extra, i jus put so can grow faster cos my plants all need high light. i can see my tank alot brighter. in addition i also put ferrotabs, it may be one of the factors that can contribute to rapid growth. but ven with fertilisers and not enuf of strong light, the plants also can't grow this ffast right? so i think the light play a big role. if you guy have 2ft tank, you may try this method... not sure it'll work for you? but it did work well for me now... a big difference in growth... last time my hairgrass seems like threads which cannot grow. but now, things are visible and growth can be accounted for. so just to share something i have and share with you my joys.
