It's used to enhance flavour of fish food so that fish with difficult appetities might be coaxed to eat.

    Freshman, I can't help you

I found something very interesting in the effect of Garlic with my fishes.
    They hated it!

When I soaked freeze-dried Tub. Worms in the SeaChem Garlic (to prevent internal parasite/bacteria in my apistoes), they spit it out after eating it or avoid it altogether.

Freshman, the garlic will have no effects on your plants since they are biological stuff and not artifcial chemicals. You can use freshly crushed garlic juice for the same effect as the Seachem one (if any)... They smelled the same anyway...

Think the mileage varies for fishes. I have extremely picky fishes in one tank and greedy in another.

Those that spit out could be vampire grade species.
It's not just "Step1: Add Water, Step2: Add Fish" If everything else don't work, add plastic plants and fish

    thanks everyone for the replies!

i had tried the raw garlic juice.. Hikari algae wafer/saki/cory pellet/tetra bits all soaked in the juice for 15 mins then dropped into tank.

my fishes (corydoras/tetra/rasboras/wolf fish) all eat as normal... hehe

    Cheers
