    Hi Guys,

Thinking of making a trip down to Teo's tomorrow. Will be borrowing my Dad's car and setting off from Holland V.

I am "suaku" with the northwest area of Singapore. Could some kind soul please give me directions of the best route to Teo's? Thanks!

Drive along LCK road and turn right to Lor 8. Before Lor 8 you will see on the left of the road a hugh patch of brown soil. This pile of soil is very distinctive because the whole LCK road after the cemetery is covered with greenery.

Right at the end there is a T-junction and turn right and slow down. You will see at the first gate with a Discus poster and go in the gate and turn right. The 1st door is Teo's farm. You can see some concrete ponds. If you go further in, it will be a discus farm but don't know whether the discus farm is still there.

    Hi Maurice,

Thanks for the directions. I now have a better idea of how to find the place.

Another thing, how should I head to Lim Chu Kang Rd from Holland V? Any major expressways? Or should I head through Bukit Panjang?

    Thanks!

Very easy to identify the entrance of Teo's farm... Look out for a big number 50 sign... That's the entrance to his farm...

When you turn into Lane 8, on your right, you should see Oriental Plant Farm...

From Holland V, easiest is to get onto AYE, then turn to Clementi Ave 6 to get to PIE, and then exit at Jalan Bahar...

From Jalan Bahar, just go all the way straight. Don't even need to use brains from there. The only time you turn is Lane 8...

I drove down to Teo's farm last Saturday and left the place with around $50 of plants. Interesting place, and my wife and I were showed around by Teo as he walked us through suggestions and the kind of plants we wanted. Nice chap, and he threw in a few complimentary plants too.

One small gripe though: the way he handed the plants really broke my wife's heart (her area is in plant biology). Teo was ripping stems, leafs, roots like no tomorrow and she winced each time he did that.

That's their usual way of handling plants...

Oh my, she should have turned away when they did that. Kinda like seeing an animal being slaughtered, some may not have seen it in their life time. But maybe, she could document what the effect are after the plants grow in your tank. Regeneration process etc, etc.

Well, most of the plants seem to be doing pretty OK, thankfully. They're stuffed with goodies though: CO2, base fertilizer, ADA soil, and liquid fertilizers.

It was quite a funny scene, come to think of it. When Teo was doing all those ripping while showing to us each plant, there came a point where I asked politely if he could refrain from ripping too much of those roots - my wife's face had turned deathly white.
