Had a chat with Nicky at Biotope this afternoon while collecting the ADA catalogue from him.

We were discussing about getting ADA tanks in Singapore and I mentioned I once browsed through some website that has mail ordering for a very large list of ADA products, including tanks.

Was requested to put the link up for everyone's benefit.

Well, I went to find it again and guess what, just realised that its the ADA USA and ADG shop online shop.
Thats sad cause seems like they online serve North America......

Have no idea if we can manage to get things from there cause their list of ADA products is pretty extensive, especially the tanks
My guess is they probably won't send to us but well... worth a try...
Thinking drop them a note to ask about delivering to Spore but not very hopeful though.

At least the site may be worth a visit just to look at the ADA product lists.

    Hey Nicky,
Haha paiseh to "mislead" you on this website and raise some hopes of yours. =p

    Enjoy guys,

Due to some complains from ADA distributors in Europe about ADG serving the market there and outside of US and Canada, ADA has since intervene and enforce that ADG only serve the US and Canada market. It is unlikely they would offend ADA just to satisfied the need here.

Looks like we need a new and better distributor here..

HK will not ship here; Japan will not ship here; US, Europe and Canada will not ship here, and KS is dragging their feet.. so what's left for us?

Ours is a puny market from what I feel, and the market for those who can afford ADA stuff is even puny-er

That site is good for eye candy though.

Singapore market is very small. It is very hard for distributor here to make a decent living.

I heard from Baranne that their silicon used is colourless.

Anyway the aquarium scene here is too small. One factor I percieve is public ignorance. Perhaps there ought to be more literature on aquarium.
    Cheers,

Plus ADA tank carries 5 year warranty, made by Germans.

Despite the tons of silicon used (not mentioning the endless debate of how good and suitable their silicon), which tank maker in Singapore dare to give you warranty exceeding 2 years?

We just need some LFS to bring in and showcase a few pieces of the low-mineral ADA tanks to open the floodgate for its demand here.

While i can understand that if demand is low, it is not feasible to keep stock. What i don't understand is that if one is willing to pay a deposit or even full-payment, and wait for the next shipment to arrive (1-2 months ??) ... somehow the local distributor is still unwilling to bring it in ... sigh

I was also previously looking into getting a garden cube 60 ... but finally gave up. The only way was to fly to hong kong and hand carry it back

    Nick,

Warrenty is one thing is how easy to claim your warrenty that matters. Well, I don't know if you use G.Loomis rods or not. They have life time warrenty on their but when you want to claim that time is alot of hassle.

And I don't think ADA's tank is going to be cheap.

Agree about the point about issues regarding ineffective warranty claim process. However if a manufacturer (in this case tank maker) dares to give you warranty for an extended period it goes to show that they are indeed confident about the quality of their product.

Quality stuff dont come cheap (usually). Our hobby involves beauty and esthetic so to have a good clear glass tank, without brace and with minimum transparent silicon helps. Of course they are highly desirable and so along with it the price is high. If so many people in Singapore are willing to pay so much for their prized arowana (and for your case fishing rod&reel), I don't see why there is no market for ADA stuff which are high end. It's all a matter of public education.. if you have not known something, chances are you will not think you will ever need it because you can't appreciate it. But once we see it and can understand how we can be better off, we will probably willing to starve for it.

Out of topic but GLoomis blank & rod cost a bomb but they almost last forever. Time to claim against warranty is a hassle but you will get a new one eventually.

Also out of topic a little.
Its logical that they make the claim process damn long and troublesome.
Lifetime warranty leh. And the product in question is a fishing rod, easily transportable etc (comparatively la....not like a big bulky fish tank hard to transport)
If they make it so efficient and easy for people to claim, then every other joker will just anyhow use and not take care.
    spoil liao just claim.

sometimes its not a matter of their service no good or what.
    but its common sense
if i the company i also will do it this way

no link whatsoever my comments actually.
but just comment for sake of comment cos i tot of it after see ur post.

Aiyoh, come over to Malaysia and carry over the ADA tank lah. Shipment just arrived in Malaysia for the ADA tanks. There's also an ADA reseller in Johor, so that should make it easier.
