I am having problems opening my SeaChem Excel bottle that comes with a childproof cap. I spent an hour twisting and turning the cap till my fingers are sore. I noticed my other SeaChem products do not have such a cap but irritatingly the one that I use most often has the most difficult cap. I have only managed to make some dents on the soft bottle and no where near opening the damn cap. Anyone can help me to open this bottle...I checked my I.C. and according to Singapore definition, I am not a child.

Try pushing firmly down and twisting open at the same time.

After opeining, use a stopper or cork to plug it. Dump the childproof cap

It's not just "Step1: Add Water, Step2: Add Fish" If everything else don't work, add plastic plants and fish

Ah...I kept turning and twisting, pushing and pulling...stubborn as hell...it worked fine when I first got it from NA..Return to exchange? A bit troublesome since I stay east..The bottle now sits on my desk as if taunting me to open it. I like the bottle since its pretty nice looking but hate the cap..I wonder if i use a stopper or cork that do not close as tightly..will my CO2 escape like gas?

I think I poke a hole and use another bottle to store...pity though..hope someone can one day solve the dilemma of the idiot/child/adult-proof cap.

Just press the cap down, and turn the cap (while holding the cap firmly down).

If you still can't open the bottle, then it probably means you're still a child, not old man like us.

Aiyo...I know how to read instructions.

    1) I put my thumb firmly on the cap.
    2) I apply STRONG, DOWNWARD pressure on the cap.
    3) I tried twisting to the left and right while maintaining intense pressure on the cap.
    4) Cap makes 'clicking sound'
    5) Cap refuse to open
    6) I apply STRONG, UPWARD pressure on the cap.
    7) Repeated steps 3 and result 5 occurs.
I clamped my teeth on to the cap.
    9) Repeated step 3 and result 4 and 5 occurs.
    10) I combined step 1 to 3 with step 8 and produced result 4 and 5.
    11) I give up.

Another genius way to proof that one is a child without showing IC

Press the sides while pushing down the cap and twisting. It helps for me.

yes, must grip real hard on the side. If still cannot, think the cap really spoilt. Try poke 2 holes on the cap and transfer to a 500ml bottle to store lo.

It will make 'farting' sounds when the threads do not get caught when pushed down and turn. It was pretty embarrassing in an open office...
