Nicky,
Have you tried asking the agent for Osram in Singapore? It might help. Last I recall, the agent is at Amtech Bldg.
Would like to try the effectiveness of these tubes.
Does anyone know where these are available in Singapore?
Note: I'm looking for 6500K and 8000K tubes, which is coded 880 & 865 respectively.

Surface area 0.93 sqm/10.01 sq ft/ inches sq in
Volume 422 l./93 gal. (111.48 US gal.)

Thanks Wynx for the guide. Just called Osram Singapore and found out that 880 is not available in Singapore.
865 can be found quite commonly around.
T5, T8, T12 differs in the diameter of the tube.

where to get the 3ft tubes in the west? how do i know if i should change the tubes? can advise if i should get the 865 type? how much will it cost?
feesh84,
T5 and T8 refer to the radius of the flourescent tubes.
so T5 is 10mm and T8 is 16mm.
T5 has newer technology in the tube which increases the intensity and lifespan of the tube.
in the longer run its cheaper to run T5 because of the longer tube lifespan.
its also cheaper and less heat creating than MH lights.
i also notice your other post on your tank.
based on your tank size i would suggest you look into T5 for lighting.
if you can get the ATI brand ones do so. (they look cool too!)
they come with individual parabolic reflectors that intensify the lumens hence better light penetration to the bottom of the tank.
