water boatman??
What is this thing (refer to attached photo)? It was inside chery shrimp bag that I bough from LFS.

I highly doubt that justikanz.. most of them are algae and micro-organism feeders.. but there are some predatory feeders.. however... very very few are large enough to take anything aquarium sized...and i'm talking boraras etc. some may take shrimp depending on species.. so if you dont know what it is exactly.. just leave it out.
actually it looks more like a Notonectidae now to me.. the picture is unclear.. but is it swimming on its back? legs facing skyward?

Water boatman sound the correct species. It move using the two...don't know what do you call that... wing?. It is just like someone rowing a boat.

water boatman is not a species. and there are other similar insects that move and behave similarly.
I've more leaves in my tank!
Wont the fish feed on it? Cichlid or larger fish?
I only have Chery shrimps, no fish... so no predator, nothing will eat it.
